About us

E2E is ‘Entry to Employment’ and is for young people aged 16-19. Courses are held at our training centres and are supported by classroom based sessions, literacy and numeracy support and short ‘taster’ work experiences and some longer term placements.

Our aim is to assist students so they can progress onto an Apprenticeship, further training or employment.

Learners can gain citizenship, Literacy and Numeracy awards, build confidence, team working and communication skills. They may also have the opportunity to achieve other qualifications such as First Aid, Food Hygiene and work towards units of an NVQ. We also offer learners the opportunity to gain AQA qualifications in a variety of subjects that interest them.

How many days will I need to attend?

E2E sessions run 4 days per week and times are often tailored to the individual, however it will typically be 9.30am to 3.30 pm Monday to Wednesday and 9.30am to 1.00pm on Thursday

How long will the programme take?

The average time is from 16 to 20 weeks. This varies according to individual need.

When and how can I join?

Visit your local Connexions office, who will refer you to us for a one-to-one interview.

Is there any financial help available whilst I am studying?

From 10th April 2006 learners on Apprenticeship or E2E programmes should apply for the Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA). You can obtain an application pack by calling 080 810 16 2 19, or by pre-registering on the EMA website.

Here's what one of our E2E learners had to say about their course:

Sam joined E2E knowing that she wanted to train as a nurse but did not have the necessary qualifications and knowledge to move straight into a nursing course. Sam says

“During my time at Springboard I knew that I wanted to be a nurse, with support I was able to apply for and achieve a place on a nursing cadet course at Homerton Hospital. I also attended a work placement at an after school club who were pleased with my work and offered me employment for the period before starting my training at Homerton Hospital”.
